A poultry worker in Michigan and an egg producer in Texas, USA, were infected with the H5N1 bird flu this week, which is spreading rapidly. After this, experts have warned that this is a fever that can spread much faster and 100 times worse than Covid 19.

The situation came to light when several mammals, including cows, cats, and humans, were found to be infected with the H5N1 strain of the virus. This also means that the virus can easily mutate and transmit among humans.

18 people were affected, and 6 of them died due to direct transmission from birds. The virus does not cause as much damage when it spreads to birds and mammals, but bird flu can be serious when transmitted directly to humans.

"This virus (has been) on the top of the pandemic list for many, many years and probably decades. And now we are getting dangerously close to this virus potentially causing a pandemic," DailyMail quoted Dr Suresh Kuchipudi, a bird flu researcher in Pittsburgh, as saying.
