On Monday, crowds gathered to pay their respects as King Charles III led a royal procession transporting his mother's coffin to St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest in Westminster Cathedral until Tuesday when she will be transferred to London.

As the hearse made the one-mile journey, approximately 20,000 people gathered to pay their respects to the late monarch. Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Princess Anne's husband, was also present. Queen Consort Camilla and Prince Edward's wife, the Countess of Wessex, rode in a car behind the king.

Earlier Monday, Britain's new king and Queen Consort Camilla appeared in Parliament, where they received condolences from lawmakers.

Prince Harry issued a statement commemorating his grandmother's life and praising her "unwavering grace and dignity," which he said, "remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy."
