Days after the suspects were taken into custody, authorities in Pakistan's Punjab province claimed on Monday that two teachers had sexually assaulted at least fifteen minor male students at a seminary.

Reporters were informed by Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) Usman Anwar that the incident occurred in the Chakwal district, some 275 kilometres from Lahore.

The accused Zeeshan and Anis, the two teachers, had been taken into custody and were being questioned. "The two teachers of a seminary in Chakwal district sexually assaulted at least 15 male students, aged between 10 and 12. The number may increase during the investigation," the IGP said.

All fifteen victims' statements, together with those of their parents, have been documented. The children had also had medical examinations, and the allegations of rape had been verified.

According to the authorities, there were also bite and knife marks on the victims' bodies. Police have also detained an administrator of the seminary.

The parent of one of the victims approached the Punjab police last Friday, requesting assistance, which brought the issue to light. When a police squad invaded the seminary, they detained the two teachers and took notes on the threats of torture. This incident has caused a huge stir in the locality.
