High court orders Kamal need not go to the Indian 2 shooting spot to recreate the accident scene. It is on Kamal's petition to the court complaining of harassment by the police during the investigation of the case on the three dead in the Indian 2 shooting spot.  The petition claims that the second summons is with ulterior political motives, and it is the first time that a film hero is being called for investigation for accidental death in a shooting spot.

Kamal, on March 3, has gone to the central crime branch office in Chennai for the investigation of the three dead in the Indian shooting spot accident on February 19. He answered all the questions asked by assistant commissioner Naga Jothi of the central crime branch police.  Kamal even met the press outside and said that he had explained all he knew about the accident.

Again the police have summoned Kamal for further investigation at the Indian 2 shooting spot on the outskirts of Chennai. It is alleged that in the second summon, and it requires Kamal to act and show what happened at the shooting spot during the accident time. Aggrieved by this second summon, Kamal filed a petition in the High Court, seeking relief from not attending the second investigation.

The case came up for hearing yesterday, March 17. The counsel for Kamal kept many allegations against the police, including harassment in the name of the inquiry. The counsel for the police said that Kamal is only one of the 24 who has been summoned, and there is no motive of harassment by the police. But the judge on hearing both the arguments ordered that Kamal need not go for the investigation at the shooting spot and if at all necessary, can go to the central crime branch office for further investigation.  The allegations by Kamal against the police were shocking and include

  • In the name of the inquiry, the police are harassing me.
  • Only because he is a political leader now, he is being harassed by the police.
  • There is no information about his involvement in the accident, even in the FIR registered for the accident in the shooting spot.
  • It is the first time that a hero of a film is being summoned for an accident in the shooting spot.
  • The police are only acting with a political motive.
