Bollywood is all set for a patriotic faceoff between Panga and Street Dancer 3D for the Republic day weekend. Panga is with Kangana Raut as the kabaddi player playing for the country, and Street Dancer with Varun Dhawan dances to win against Pakistan. But who is to win the box office collections is the big question now.
Varun Dhawan, a natural dancer, who has made the box office coffins ringing with huge collections within eight years, Kangana Ranaut, is struggling to do so after her spectacular success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns in 2015. Varun Dhawan's Kalank last year collected a whopping 21.6 crores on the first day. Kangana's Manikarnika in 2019 received 8.75 crores on its first day.
Both the movies are to be released on January 24 and are based on patriotic themes, while Panga is about a kabaddi player's life and struggle to win for India, along with facing a lot of domestic problems in personal life. Street Dancer is about winning the dance competition against the Pakistani dancer. But the twist in it is that Varun falls in love with Shraddha Kapoor, who plays as a Pakistani beauty. How will the Indian audience take it is the challenge for the movie. But with Prabhu Deva to support Varun, the film could bring in surprises for the audience. Also, Varun's lowest first-day collection in all of his twelve movies so far from 2012 is that of Badlapur, which collected seven crores on the first day.
