The Oscar-winning documentary  The Elephant Whisperers has garnered international attention. The Elephant Whisperer documentary was shot in Theppakadu, a village in the Mudumalai forest in the Nilgiris district.

This documentary is made to explain the love struggles between two baby elephants, Raghu and Ammu, who were raised by a tribal couple named Bomman and Bellie.

Speaking about this, Bomman said that his documentary won the Oscar award and brought pride to all those working in the forest department like him. This award turned out to be prestigious to Nilgiris, and the local people are happy that the tribal community are identified and recognised.

Directed by  Kartiki Gonsalves, The Elephant Whisperers beautifully showed the bond between animals and humans. The way Bhomman and Bellie took care of the baby elephants was heartwarming. The cinematography and the content of this documentary deserved the Oscars.
