Pen Memorial at Marina Sea, approved by Central Govt

The central government has approved to set up of a 134-feet tall "Pen Memorial" with 15 conditions. Also, the Coastal Regulatory Zone approval is in pending. Pena Memorial, which is currently sanctioned, is for the late former CM Karunanidhi.
Union Ministry of Environment organised public meeting to get the opinion, AIADMK and Naam Tamilar Party leaders opposed against the Pen Memorial when there is no proper infrastructure in many government schools till date.
