Tamil Nadu Weather: Heavy Rain Till December 4 in Six Districts

The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall, especially in coastal Tamil Nadu, between December 1 and 4.

The India Meteorological Department said that the severe depression in the Bay of Bengal has now strengthened into a low-pressure zone. It is also reported that it may intensify into a storm in the Bay of Bengal on December 3.

This depression is 900 km east-southeast of Puducherry. It is 800 km southeast of Chennai. The India Meteorological Department has predicted that it will remain at a distance and then become a storm and cross the coast between Chennai and Masulipatnam in South Andhra Pradesh- North Tamil Nadu on the evening of December 4.

At this stage, nine ports, namely Chennai, Ennore, Kattupalli, Karaikal, Puducherry, Tuticorin, Cuddalore, Nagai and Pamban, have been put on the No. 1 storm warning cage, indicating that a stormy weather condition has developed. Also, fishermen from Puducherry and Karaikal have been banned from going to the sea due to strong winds.
