A nine-year-old girl in Puducherry was playing near her house when she went missing. Her parents searched for her but could not find her. They registered a complaint at the Muthialpet police station.

Police started the investigation and found no clues. Meanwhile, a sack bag was found in a drain that is 100 meters away from the girl's house. The police recovered the sack and found the dead body of the 9-year-old girl with her hands and mouth tied. And the body was sent to post mortem at Puducherry JIPMER government hospital.

It is then known that the girl was raped and killed. This shocked the girl's family and the people of Puducherry. Following this, many party leaders and politicians condoled the family of the nine-year-old girl.

Puducherry CM N Ramaswamy

As protests broke out after the terrific incident, Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangaswamy met the parents of the nine-year-old child. He announced a compensation of Rs. 20 lakhs to the family.

Puducherry Governor Tamilisai Srinivasan

In this case, Deputy Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan personally paid tribute to the body of the girl. She also condoled the girl's mother. While talking to the press, Tamilisai said, "As a mother, I am devastated by the death of the little girl. I respect the emotions of the protestors. It is reported some of the drug smugglers are in Pondicherry. They will be caught and will be given severe punishments. I stand with the girl's mother. Two criminals have been caught, and I will make sure they get maximum punishment."

Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi

In his X page, the Youth Welfare and Sports Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin tweeted, "The incident of kidnapping and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Puducherry has caused shock and unbearable grief. The criminals involved in this shameful murder should be given the maximum punishment immediately. I am sending my deepest condolences to the parents of the child, who are suffering from an unimaginable loss."

BJP National President Vanathi Srinivasan

BJP's National President and MLA of Tamil Nadu MLA, Vanathi Srinivasan, tweeted saying, "A 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered in Puducherry is heart-wrenching, and the culprits of this monstrous crime should be punished severely. The child's grieving parents should get instant justice.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Leader Vijay

Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Leader Vijay said on his X page, saying, "On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Vettri Kazhagam, I request the Puducherry government to take appropriate action to punish the killers who brutally and mercilessly murdered the little girl."

Makkal Needhi Maiam Leader Kamal Hassan

Following this issue, Kamal Hassan, the leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam tweeted with #SayNotoDrugs saying, "An 8-year-old girl was kidnapped and killed in Puducherry and thrown into the drain. The future will not forgive us if we do not stop these culprits with an iron fist."

MP Rahul Gandhi

Member of Parliament and Indian Congress Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "The brutality that happened to a nine-year-old girl in Puducherry has shocked everyone. After all, why are the incidents of crimes against women continuously increasing in the country?"

Bar Council of Puducherry has announced that none of the lawyers will favour the criminals involved in the rape and murder case of the nine-year-old child.
